Summer Glau is an American actress known for her performance in the role of River Tam in the critically popular TV show Firefly and also as Cameron in the series Terminator. Sarah Connor Chronicles. Selena joined her elder siblings Abraham Junior who was on the bass guitar; Sister Suzette played drums. Selena performed as the leading singer. Selena Y Los Dino was the name of her band and Selena would sing with other siblings at restaurants, bars and at wedding festivals. Selena did not have much childhood as the band required lots of time. But their father Abraham was determined to inspire his children and make them dedicated musicians. Abraham senior played in Los Dinos, the band that started it all. Selena Y Los Dinos formed officialy in 1981. It was a company of the family and was the primary source of income for the family. Quintanillas were determined in spite of the initially difficult financial times to make an established band. Their patience would eventually pay back in the mid 1980's as Selena Y Los Dinos gained notoriety in the western states. Selena was awarded the Female Vocalist award and the Performer's Award at the Tejano awards in the year 1986. From then on, Selena Y Los Dinos were among the top winners every year, and they gained notoriety and fame. The group appeared in many TV shows that were Spanish-language, such as El Show De Johnny Canales and Siempre In Domingo and Sabado Gigante.
